IRINA VENHO, SPECIALIST: ”The most rewarding thing is realising that new functionalities function.”
What do you do at Funidata?
In August 2017 I began here at Funidata with the job title of project assistant. Ever since then I’ve been involved in developing the functions of the Sisu system. I work as a specialist now. In addition to the development work I also translate the interface texts in English and update the English and Swedish versions in the system. I update the standard codes of Sisu as well as maintain the Jira development project.
What do you find challenging in your job? And what is rewarding?
The perception and understanding of a huge system like Sisu can be challenging as is keeping in mind the variety of users it needs to cater for. Translating complex interface texts has its challenges, too. The most rewarding thing is realising that new functionalities function.
Why did you apply for a job at Funidata?
I was looking for a job where I could use the extensive experience accumulated over nine years working for the university administration in Aalto University application and student services. I also worked in the UAF admissions services for the University of Helsinki. I have worked with academic administrative processes, further development of application systems, communication, building and maintenance of websites, customer service and translations.
What’s best at Funidata?
My work mates, the flat hierarchy, the relaxed and fun atmosphere, great benefits.
